The CONSOL Energy Center is an arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The arena is the second home of the Pittsburgh Penguins, the city’s National Hockey League (NHL) franchise, as well as the first home to the Arena Football League’s Pittsburgh Power, which will begin play in 2011. Construction was completed on August 1, 2010, and will be open for the 2010–11 NHL season. The arena replaced the Penguins former arena, Pittsburgh Civic Arena, which was built in 1961.
